I entered a contest on the Canadian www.icoke.ca site in late August to become an Olympic Torchbearer. At first I didn't bother to enter it all summer just other contests when the site asked me why I wasn't entering. I put in I can't run. It came back with you don't have to. I said what's the odds of me getting selected. It said depends on your answers and how much we think you will bring to the program......ok??
You had to include either who you were helping the environment, getting kids into sports/more active or other volunteer work you had done to help the community. Going for the short version I just included my volunteer resume, which includes helping start and being the first chair of Habitat for Humanity here, on 3 different provincial boards representing tenants and low income people and still on the... -

Hi all,
just wanted to fill in a few friends what had been happening with me lately. While I had a lovely time at my son's and visit with my grandkids, watched my granddaughter receive 2 bronze medals in a figure skating competition beating out older girls and she had only been at this level for 6 weeks! I came home to major tragedy. My son at home had called the day before I left and said my dog Tanner wasn't eating or drinking much but we both figured it was separation anxiety as she's so use to being just with me.

A very long story short~~
the Home my hair shops are at "decided to go in a new direction" and did not renew my contract but gave it to one of the stylists that work for me and her partner the apprentice.
I'm devastated, heart broke, feel betrayed, am scared to death what I'm going to do after my last check on Dec.5th.
How am I going to pay the mortgage, insurance, my meds etc.?
The other 2 stylists want me to sell them some of the stuff I own in the shops (which is everything but the furniture and dryers). I just bought $500 worth of new towels in Sept and 2 weeks later they told me they were tendering my contract. Don't you think they could have told me before???
I really don't want to sell these 2 jack! I can see them going under within months.

Fall into Halloween

Hi all
for Halloween (Samhain) I've changed the background to a Halloween one. So if you write anything you'll have to use a red/yellow/orange lettering so I can see it! LOL
Can't believe it's fall already summer flew by. Alot of rain then I had renovations done on the house, roofs on house, garage and shed done, insulation on the walls of the house and new siding on all buildings to. Roofs only took 2 days once they started.
Siding took forever for it to come in, then get put up then they have come back 3 times to fix issues. Still suppose to come back again, but I haven't heard from them. I gave them about 95% of the agreed amount but I... -

Hi all
ok I'm in crazy mode. Been getting construction done on the house and garages. 3 roofs are done and the windows in the back garage/shed and we had to wait 2 weeks for siding to come in cause of course I was picky about which one I got.
Now it's getting down to the wire. My birthday is next Sat. and it's a big one so having a bunch of people over and the house isn't done yet~!
One there have been rain delays but 1 week I had to go to Toronto on business they didn't come over at all! Now I'm about to freak out majorly on my contractor. Of course it was a long...
